RwandAir, Rwanda’s national carrier and one of Africa’s fastest-growing airlines, has announced the launch of its Cadet Pilot Program. The initiative is designed to provide aspiring Rwandan pilots with the skills and qualifications needed to excel in the aviation industry, while contributing to the airline’s commitment to delivering world-class travel experiences.
The program offers participants the opportunity to receive exceptional training from aviation industry experts, a structured pathway to becoming First Officers, and the chance to join a diverse and innovative team operating on global routes. RwandAir sees this as a way to nurture local talent and build on its legacy of excellence and professionalism.
Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria to join the program. Candidates must be between 18 and 24 years old, hold Rwandan citizenship, and have excelled in secondary school subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or equivalent combinations. Those with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics with a 2nd Class Upper qualification are also encouraged to apply.
Physical fitness, meeting medical standards for a commercial pilot license, and English proficiency are mandatory. A passion for aviation and strong communication skills are also essential for applicants.
The training program includes ground school and simulator sessions at globally recognized flight schools, supervised flight hours leading to a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), and leadership training to prepare participants for future roles within the airline.
Interested candidates must submit their applications by December 15, 2024. Required documents include an application letter addressed to the Chief HR & Administration Officer, a recent CV, copies of identity documents, academic certificates, and references from three referees.
