In a bid to enhance Rwanda’s dairy industry, Inyange Industries officially inaugurated its cutting-edge Milk Powder Plant (MPP) on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

This state-of-the-art facility, located in Nyagatare District, marks a monumental investment of US$54 million, aimed at revolutionizing milk processing in the region.

The launch event was graced by the Right Honorable Prime Minister, Dr. Édouard Ngirente, and attended by numerous dignitaries, underscoring the plant’s national importance.

The MPP stands out for its advanced technology, being the first plant in Africa and the seventh globally to utilize such sophisticated systems.

This innovation ensures not only high efficiency but also the safety and quality of the milk products.

The plant has a remarkable capacity to process 650,000 liters of milk daily, positioning Inyange Industries as a leader in the sector.

Inyange’s investment in this facility is a part of its broader strategy to boost local milk production and reduce dependency on imports.

The plant’s operations are set to inject approximately Rwf 10 billion annually into the economy.

This financial influx is significant for local farmers, who have seen their daily earnings increase from Rwf2 million to Rwf 80 million since the plant’s inception.

Additionally, the plant has created 270 permanent jobs and supports hundreds more indirectly, further stimulating the local economy.

The MPP produces three main product categories: skimmed and whole milk powders, butter, and ghee.

These products are made from high-quality raw milk sourced from local farmers, ensuring that the benefits of this advanced facility extend throughout the agricultural community.

Inyange Industries also ensures that these products meet the highest standards of quality, holding certifications from the Rwanda Standards Board, Rwanda FDA, and other international bodies.

The inauguration of the MPP is not just a milestone for Inyange Industries but also a significant development for Rwanda’s food processing sector.

The plant supports local manufacturers and provides industrial-grade milk essential for various production processes.

This development aligns with Inyange’s mission to support Rwanda’s economic growth and enhance the livelihoods of local farmers.

Inyange Industries, established in 1997, has been at the forefront of Rwanda’s food processing industry.

From its early days focusing on pasteurized milk and yogurt, the company has expanded its product range to include fruit juices and natural mineral water.

The MPP is the latest addition to this impressive portfolio, representing Inyange’s commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainable development.

As Rwanda continues to grow its economy and expand its industrial capabilities, the inauguration of the MPP symbolizes a significant step forward.

It not only boosts local production but also positions Rwanda as a key player in the global dairy market.

With plans for future expansion and a focus on sustainable practices, Inyange Industries is set to play a crucial role in the nation’s economic landscape.
